Reassuring Sisterly Love

Photobucket

I saw this post on a great blog called Marvelous Kiddo and I am re-blogging it becuase it reminded me of the love my mother and my aunt share for each other (they too are identical twins who were born prematurely).

This picture is from an article called the “RESCUING HUG"

The article details the first week of life of a set of twins. Apparently each were in their respective incubators and one was not expected to live. A hospital nurse fought against the hospital rules and placed the babies in one incubator. When they were placed together, the healthier of the two, threw an arm over her sister in an endearing embrace. The smaller baby’s heart stabilized and temperature rose to normal.

To my mother and my Aunt CC -- this article made me think of you .. you both started out like this, together first and foremost the best of friends, sisters.  Your undenying love for each other is very apparent even when the one twin can feel what the other is feeling (which is still very creepy and cool at the same time) or when ya'll are at odds with each other.  What you have resonates to your daughters and nieces and we can only strive to achieve the love and closeness you have together with our own sisters.  I call you "Mom" and "Aunt" only as titles but in my heart you are both my best friends.   I love you!
